Dr. Jeffrey Evans – Medical Director

Dr. Evans grew up in Des Moines, Iowa where he originally found his passion for working with animals. After several years in Colorado, he transferred to Cornell College to complete a Bachelors of Special Studies with an emphasis in animal Biology. He completed his first years of veterinary school at St. George’s University and was then clinically trained at Ohio State University. Dr. Evans is most passionate about small animal companion medicine with an interest in diagnostic medicine, interventional medicine including low level laser therapy, surgery, dentistry, ultrasonography and preventative medicine. When not caring for patients, Dr. Evans enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, playing music and spending time with his best pal, Ollie.

Dr. Isaac Maxmen – Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Maxmen was born and raised in western Massachusetts, and grew up within a true animal setting having both parents being veterinarians themselves. Dr. Maxmen attended UMASS Amherst for his bachelors, and following this attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2007. Since then, he has practiced in many specialty clinics, emergency clinics, and general practice facilities for dogs and cats. He worked briefly in Arizona and Woburn, and has spent the last eight years living and working in San Francisco. Dr. Maxmen also continued the academic path by obtaining a master’s degree in infectious diseases from UC Berkeley, and then fulfilled the coursework of a PhD in Epidemiology at the UC Davis veterinary school, before leaving early to decide to go back to being a full-time veterinarian. In his spare time, he loves hanging out with his dogs, Huxley and Mayz, hiking, running, and doing anything outside. He is very excited to be back home again in Massachusetts.

Dr. Markeya Williams – Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Williams is a native of Northern New Jersey. In 2002, she completed her undergraduate studies in Animal & Poultry Sciences at Tuskegee University and in 2006 obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Williams spent the majority of her career in academia (University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, and Harvard Medical School) where she served as clinical veterinarian and surgical faculty. Dr. Williams is most passionate about exotic and traditional species medicine and surgery (soft tissue and dental), comparative anatomy, pain and wound management. In her spare time, Dr. Williams enjoys world travel, food writing and food photography.

Dr. Jennifer Quinones – Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Jennifer Quinones received a B.S. in Pre Veterinary Medicine from UMass Amherst. She then received her veterinary degree from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.  After spending one year in the clinical research setting, Jennifer worked at an emergency hospital in New Hampshire for almost 3 years. She has since joined Boston Animal Hospital, where she will see general practice appointments as well as emergencies on an as needed basis.
Jennifer is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and is USDA accredited.
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys weight lifting and spending time with her Beagle, Royce.

Erin Behan – Practice Manager

Erin joined Boston Animal Hospital in September 2016 with an extensive background in veterinary medicine spanning nearly 20 years. She is committed to providing exemplary physical and emotional care for patients and their families. Erin has worked in General Practice, Emergency and Surgery as a technician, Front Desk Coordinator, Technician Supervisor, and Office Manager. She lives in southern New Hampshire with her teenage daughter, 2 cats Skippy and Bailey and rescue pup Sammy, who can usually be found sleeping under her desk at the hospital. Erin spends her spare time enjoying the beautiful lakes, mountains and beaches of New England.

Jen – Veterinary Technician

Jen has had a passion for animals her entire life, and has worked in animal medicine for nearly two decades. She has a particular interest in small animal surgery and enjoys learning new techniques to better serve her patients. Jen has worked at Boston Animal Hospital since 2013 having moved here from Maryland. When not at work she is active in pitbull awareness and competes in AKC conformation. Jen is the proud mom to 4-year-old Bella, a beautiful blue American Staffordshire Terrier.

Ely – Veterinary Technician

Ely has spent ten years working in the veterinary field. She grew up with dogs and knew from a very young age that she wanted to spend her life caring for animals. She is passionate about helping provide a long and healthy life for all of her patients. She is especially interested in promoting good health through proper nutrition and maintains our line of veterinary diets. When not caring for patients, Ely enjoys spending time with her family, including her cat Mr. Blue and her puppy Jewel.

Alyssa – Veterinary Technician

Alyssa recently moved to Boston from Southern California where she attended Mt. Sac College majoring in Animal Science. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 5 years and has a special interest in pathology and surgical care. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys hiking with her dog Cali, working out, and traveling.

Maria – Technician Assistant

Maria is a native of Boston, having grown up just south of the city. She now resides in Jamaica Plain and has been with Boston Animal Hospital since September of 2016. Maria graduated from Emmanuel College with a bachelor’s degree in business management this past year, and has always had a strong love for animals. She has held many different positions in the animal field including dog walking, pet sitting, grooming and daycare, and is currently working toward becoming a Veterinary Technician. When she is not at work, you can find her doing yoga or hanging out with friends downtown.

Danya – Technician Assistant

Danya has worked in the animal field for 9 years, and most recently spent time transporting many of our furry friends for a fun day at Boston Red Dog. Danya loves interacting with all of our patients and their families. She has adored animals for as long as she can remember and is the staff winner for having the most pets of their own; two dogs, Katara and Boomey, and three cats, Money, Momo, and Laru.
